Temperature is a critical factor in the operation and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries used in rail vehicles. The optimal operating temperature for these batteries is between 15°C and 35°C. If the temperature falls outside this range, both the performance and the longevity of the battery will be significantly compromised.

Telema provides efficient and reliable thermal management solutions for railway applications: Telema BTMS is specifically designed to meet the specific requirements of a wide range of battery-operated trains and trams, as well as to adhere to railway industry standards:

  • EN 50125 – Environmental conditions from -25°C to 55°C
  • EN 61373 – Shock and Vibration Testing
  • EN 45545 – Fire & Smoke
  • EN 50155 – Electronic equipment
  • EN 50121 –EMC Requirements
  • EN 60077 – Electric equipment
  • EN 50657 – Software Development

Telema BTMS key characteristics:

  • Custom Design: based on costumer specification, under-frame and rooftop mounting
  • Wide Power range: key components will be selected based on costumer requests
  • Refrigerant R-513A / R-290
  • 24/72/110 VDC Low voltage equipment
  • 400VAC high-power equipment
  • CANOpen / EthernetCIP communication protocols
